UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE PARTICIPATION AT A NEW LOW

Only about 25% of the unemployed are receiving unemployment insurance now, down from a high of around 70%.*  There is the feeling by many that the unemployed are living in the lap of luxury on unemployment insurance making them too lazy to look for work.  Actually unemployment checks are for only about 305 of the workers salary which hardly seems to me the lap of luxury.  Do none of these people have mortgages, automobiles, electricity, water and the like?  Do they not need to eat?  Of course they have the emergency rooms for their health benefit.  Americans are surprisingly docile to accept this.
